About Us
| Vocal music at Central Michigan today follows a long tradition of vocal excellence dating back to our first performance of Handel's Messiah, over one hundred years ago. Singers at Central Michigan University enjoy a wide variety of performing opportunities, including choirs, mixed ensembles, Opera, and Music Theatre productions. The vocal program at CMU is strongly focused on the undergraduate experience, with particular attention to the development of the young voice. Unlike many other state universities, undergraduate, rather than graduate students perform the overwhelming majority of the leading roles in our opera, choral, and mixed ensemble productions. |
